Optical Image stabilizer

Applicable modes:

Using one of these modes, jitter during picture taking is detected, and the camera automatically
compensates the jitter, enabling jitter-free images to be taken.

Setting the stabilizer in the [Rec] menu

1

Select [Stabilizer] in the [Rec] menu.

(P64)

2

Touch the item.

The [Stabilizer] feature is only available if the lens you are using has an internal stabilizer.

Exit the menu after it is set.

Preventing jitter (camera shake)

When the jitter alert [

] appears, use [Stabilizer]

(P157)

, a tripod, the self-timer

(P93)

or the

remote shutter (DMW-RSL1: optional)

(P208)

.

Shutter speed will be slower particularly in the following cases. Keep the camera still from the
moment the shutter button is pressed until the picture appears on the screen. We recommend using
a tripod.

Slow Sync.

Slow Sync./Red-Eye Reduction

[Clear Nightscape]/[Cool Night Sky]/[Warm Glowing Nightscape]/[Artistic Nightscape]/[Glittering
Illuminations]/[Clear Night Portrait] (Scene Guide Mode)

When you set to a slow shutter speed

A lens which supports the stabilizer function is required.

The interchangeable lens (H-PS14042, H-FS014042, H-FS45150) supports the stabilizer
function.
