Description, Features
and Benefits

The Runco VX-2000d DLP Projector and DHD Controller retains all of the features and
performance of the VX-1000d – our most popular projector ever – while incorporating
new, cutting edge technology and 1080p performance. Its performance is so impressive,
in fact, that the VX-2000d has earned its place in our exclusive, Video Xtreme™ family of
products – our top of the line and the world’s first video products to earn prestigious
THX

®

certification.

The VX-2000d incorporates Runco’s exclusive Enhanced GEN 3™ engineering
advancements to make more efficient use of optical light engine design. This results in
greater light output and dramatically increases contrast ratio.

Runco has implemented a host of improvements into the VX-2000d light engine to take
full advantage of its 16:9 SuperOnyx™ Digital Micromirror Device™ (DMD™) chip. These
include a sophisticated color balancing system resulting in the industry’s best gray scale
tracking. Additionally, the VX-2000d incorporates Reflectance Volume Regulation™
(RVR™), which provides for variable adjustment of the light path through the optics,
enabling the perfect blend of black and white levels for each individual installation.

The VX-2000d is supplied with Runco’s next-generation, Digital High Definition (DHD™)
Controller featuring advanced Vivix II™ processing, superb scaling and aspect ratio
control. The DHD Controller produces stunning video imagery, elevating even standard
NTSC material to near high-definition levels.

The VX-2000d produces an impressive 1500 ANSI lumens of light output (CSMS™ light
output of 15.6 to 22.4 ft-Lamberts). This advanced design provides pure digital
connections from input to light engine for absolutely stellar pictures. In addition, Runco’s
multiple aspect ratio control includes its unique VirtualWide™ mode for viewing standard
video formats in widescreen without loss of image quality.

For uncompromising widescreen reproduction of movies originally filmed in the “scope”
(2.35:1) format, the VX-2000d can be equipped with Runco’s patent-pending CineWide™
technology, a combination of software, electronics and high-quality anamorphic optics.
CineWide maintains constant vertical height on the screen just as in a movie theater.
When a viewer transitions from 1.78:1 (16:9) program material to 2.35:1, the image simply
gets wider while full height is maintained.

Discrete infrared (IR) and RS-232 control make custom installation seamless, while
discrete source and aspect ratio selection accommodate any automation control system.

CineWide requires the use of a 2.35:1 or similar aspect ratio superwide
format screen.
