Manual Tuning Mode

Notes:

• The American model changes FM frequency in

0.1 MHz steps.

• Other models change frequency in 0.05 MHz steps for

FM.

• In Manual Tuning mode, FM stations will be in mono.

Switch back to Auto Tuning mode for stereo.

Tuning into weak FM stations

If the signal from a stereo FM station is weak, it may be
impossible to get good reception. In this case, switch to
Manual Tuning mode and listen to the station in mono.

Using RDS (European model only)

When tuned into an RDS (Radio Data System) station
that’s broadcasting PS (Program Service Name) infor-
mation, the RDS indicator appears and the name of the
station appears on the display. Only European models
support RDS, and only in areas where RDS is used.

Presetting Radio Stations

You can store up to 30 radio stations as presets.

Selecting Preset Stations

Press the REMOTE MODE [AMP]
button, then press the [TUN]
INPUT SELECTOR button to
select FM.

Press the [TUN M] button repeat-
edly until the AUTO indicator dis-
appears from the display.

Manual Tuning mode is now selected.

Use the [TUN–] and [TUN+] but-
tons to tune into a radio station
by frequency.

Press and hold these buttons to change
the frequency continually. Press once to
change the frequency one step at a time.
Check your local radio guide for the
frequencies of the stations available in
your area.

Tune into the station that you
want to store as a preset.

Press the [P MEM] button.

The MEMORY indicator appears and
the preset number flashes.

While the MEMORY indicator is
displayed, use the CH [+/–]
button to select a preset from 1
through 30.

In this example, preset #3 is selected.

Press the [P MEM] button again
to store the station.

The station is stored and the preset
number stops flashing.
Repeat this procedure for all of your
favorite radio stations.
