Matrix Variable

A matrix is a rectangular array of elements. When you create a matrix in the Data/Matrix
Editor, you must specify the number of rows and columns (although you can add or
delete rows and columns later). In the Data/Matrix Editor, a matrix variable:

After creating a matrix in the Data/Matrix Editor, you can use the matrix in any
application (such as the Home screen).

Note:

Use brackets to refer to a specific element in a matrix. For example, enter

mat1[2,1]

to access the 1st element in the 2nd row.

Looks similar to a data variable, but all
columns must have the same length.

Is initially created with 0 in each cell. You
can then enter the applicable value in
place of 0.

From the Home screen or a program, you can

9 to store a matrix with either of the

equivalent methods shown to the right.

above, it is pretty printed in the history area in
traditional matrix form.
