Troubleshooting
Symptom
Possible causes
Response
Power will not turn on, display
will not light
The power cable is not con-
nected properly.
Connect the power cable properly.
The POWER switch is not turned
on.
Turn the POWER switch on.
No sound from the speaker
The cable is not connected prop-
erly.
Make the correct connections to the audio input jack and the
speaker output jack.
The gain or attenuator setting
has lowered the level.
Gain is adjusted by the MENU screen
➝ General ➝ Sensitivity/
Amp Gain. Attenuator is adjusted by turning the encoder in the
HOME screen.
The [MUTE] button is on.
If the front panel [MUTE] indicator is on, hold down the [MUTE]
button for one second or longer to cancel muting.
The protection circuit has oper-
ated, muting the output.
If the amplifier has overheated, clean the filter elements and
improve the ventilation around the amplifier. If the power supply
has malfunctioned, contact your Yamaha dealer.
In the SIGNAL PATH screen, the
input channels of the slot are
unassigned, their level is low-
ered, or they are muted.
Check the parameters for each component in the SIGNAL PATH
screen, such as Slot Input Router, Input On/Off, 4x4 Matrix
Mixer, and Mute On/Off.
Noise from the speaker
The word clock from the slot
input is not synchronized with the
master clock.
Select the word clock from the slot as the master clock, or turn
Auto Scan Mode on.
Analog input level is exceeding
the input sensitivity setting.
Adjust MENU screen
➝ General ➝ Sensitivity/Amp Gain setting
according to the input level.
Sound that appears to be pro-
cessed by an effect (phaser) is
output from the speaker
Phase cancellation is occurring
because an analog input signal
and digital input signal from the
same sound source but differing
latencies are being mixed via the
4x4 Matrix Mixer.
If you’re using redundant connections, set the MENU screen

General
➝ Input Redundancy ➝ Mode setting to Backup. Alter-
natively, change the settings of the 4x4 Matrix Mixer etc. to turn
off one of the signals.
An alert message is displayed
An amplifier malfunction or other
alert event related to the ampli-
fier audio has occurred.
For details on the meaning of each alert message and the
appropriate measures to take, refer to the Amp Editor Owner’s
Manual.
Panel operations are not
accepted
The unit is locked.
Refer to the Front Panel Operation setting
.
A scene can be saved but not
recalled
Scene Recall is set to Disable.
Set the UTILITY screen
➝ Scene Setup ➝ Scene Recall setting
to Enable.
Library data can be recalled,
but not saved
You cannot save library data from
the TXn front panel.
Save the library data from Amp Editor.
All scene data saved in the
TXn has disappeared
The power was turned off while
the TXn’s data was being saved.
If you saved the project in Amp Editor, synchronize from Amp
Editor to the TXn.
The internal battery has run
down.
Contact your Yamaha dealer to have the battery replaced.
Can’t use Amp Editor to moni-
tor or control the TXn
A cable is disconnected or bro-
ken.
Make sure that the Ethernet cable is correctly connected, and
that it is not broken.
The unit is offline.
In the main panel window, click the [OFFLINE] button to switch it
to [ONLINE].
The Device ID or IP address is
not set correctly.
Re-do the setup as described in the Amp Editor Owner’s Man-
ual.
The LCD is not backlit.
“LCD Backlight” is set to “Auto
OFF.”
Press any button on the panel to turn the backlight on.The LCD
backlight will turn off if you do not operate the unit for more than
10 seconds.
To keep the LCD backlit all the time, access the Utility screen,
select [LCD Setup], then set [Backlight] to “ON.”
