Option 2: Connect one channel on the EDC to the aircraft’s Nose Gear green down light. The state of all
three gears will be displayed on the MVP based on the Nose Gear’s status. Select “Gear All” for the probe in
Configuration Screen #1. This option requires one EDC input. The EDC interface circuit is shown above.

Option 3: Use this option to display only the Left and Right Main Gears (no Nose Gear) from a single EDC
input. Connect the EDC to the Left or Right Main Gear light. Select “Gear Main” for the probe in
Configuration Screen #1. This option requires one EDC input. The EDC interface circuit is shown above.

3.0 Set Up the MVP for the Unsafe Indicator:

1. Navigate to the “1. EDC Input To Function Mapping” screen. Select the Temperature (or Resistive Fuel
Level) Channel that corresponds to the channel on the EDC that was connected to the Unsafe Light.

2. Select “Unsafe” in the Function field. Set the Probe field to “VI-221-TMP” for a Temp Channel or “VI-221-
FL” for a F. Level Channel.

3. Cycle the Gear (make sure the aircraft is securaly and safely on jacks) and check that the Reading field goes from
a high to a low (or low to a high) value when the Unsafe Light is cycled from off to on.

4. Navigate to the “4. Redlines, Limits and Color Setup” screen. Select “Unsafe” for the Function. Set the
Range Markings as follows:

For a High Reading when the Unsafe Light is on:

Set “White” From “0.0” To “3.0”
Set “Red” From “3.0” To “100.0”

For a Low Reading when the Unsafe Light is on:

Set “White” From “3.0” To “100.0”
Set “Red” From “0.0” To “3.0”

4.0 Set Up the MVP for the Gear Position Indicator:

1. Navigate to the “1. EDC Input To Function Mapping” screen. Select the Temperature (or Resistive Fuel
Level) Channel that corresponds to the channel on the EDC that was connected to one of the Gear Lights.

2. Select Gear All, Gear Left, Gear Main, Gear Noise, Gear RT or Gear Tail (as appropriate for the wiring option
selected above) in the Function field.

3. Set the Probe field to “VI-221-TMP” for a Temp Channel or “VI-221-FL” for a F. Level Channel.

4. Perform steps 1, 2 and 3 for each Gear Lights connected to the EDC.

5. Cycle the Gear (make sure the aircraft is securaly and safely on jacks) and check the Reading field for each of
the Gear Lights connected to the EDC. The value should go from high to a low (or low to a high) reading when the
appropriate Gear Light goes from off to on.
