7. Turn AC power to the MGS 2000C control unit
ON. Turn the HV Adjust Knob fully clockwise
and read the output voltage displayed on the
76652-01 meter, then turn the control unit AC
power OFF. Reading should be rated kV of
gun +0/-10%.

8. Disconnect the 76652-01 Test Probe and
remove the short from the defective gun's air
flow switch. When ready to resume spray
operations, reconnect the spraygun HV cable
and turn AC power to the MGS control unit
ON.

If the voltage read correctly, the problem is not with
the High Voltage Module and the HV cable and
spraygun should be checked for the cause.

Ensure that the Test Probe HV cable

makes good contact both inside the Test
Probe and inside the power supply HV
tube.

If the voltage did not read correctly, verify that the
problem is not with the control unit by performing
a control unit output test. If the problem is not with
the control unit, then the High Voltage Module or
Low Voltage Cable is defective.

To assist in testing and troubleshooting, a jumper
(J1) has been incorporated on the MGS PC board.
By covering (shorting) both terminals of jumper J1
on the MGS PC board, the high voltage ON relay
for gun 1 is triggered. Thus, for testing and
troubleshooting, the high voltage output to gun 1
can be activated without the need to trigger the
spraygun. Remember to reposition the jumper
after testing so it covers only one terminal (open)
or the high voltage at gun 1 will stay on all the time.
(See Figure 7 for location of test jumper J1).
