Functional Check of Unit

The SafEye system has been calibrated at the factory for the User's specific
gas or vapor detection requirements. The following procedure validates the
functional operation of the system. The Functional Check Filter is a
convenient operational check used to confirm that response has not
changed from previous readings. The filter is not used for calibration, which
is unnecessary, nor does it equate to a particular quantity of gas.

Caution: Automatic activation or any external device that should not be
activated during the calibration check should be disconnected.

Notes:

1

This functional verification procedure is for a standard 0-20mA output.

2

Prior to starting the functional check, verify that the power to the units is
on and that the current of the 0-20mA channel is stable. Record the
reading.

To perform the functional check:

1

Position the Functional Check filter in front of the SafEye Detector.

2

The functional check filter's window must be centered over the viewing
window of the Detector.

3

Wait 20 seconds.

4

Read the 0-20mA current. Determine the difference between the reading
taken with and without the Functional Check Filter. This difference is the
0-20mA current variance.

5

Record the 0-20mA current variance in the Maintenance Logbook. If the
variance is more than a 30% change when compared to the previous
check (see delivery form), repeat the alignment.
