Listening
The Listen screen below will be displayed when you touch Listen [L] on the Diagnostic Tools
screen or press “L” on the keyboard when in the narrow band mode or after you choose default,
low, or high if you are in the frequency hopping mode. It is designed to help you determine the
best location for the repeater in terms of its ability to receive signals from the transmitters it is
programmed to hear.
Listen [L]—Touching the Listen but-ton or pressing “L” on the keyboard causes the repeater to
re-transmit every Badger ORION transmission it receives for 12 seconds. The following screen
will appear when the listening process is underway.
Serial numbers of transmitters that are on the repeater’s list will be highlighted in yellow. Touch
/\ [U] or press “U” on the keyboard to move one step up the SN List. Touch \/ [D] or press “D” on
the keyboard to move one step down.
As each transmission is received from the repeater, it will be displayed in a separate window,
allowing you to view all transmitters that are within range of the repeater.
Signals from each of the transmitters that the repeater is programmed to receive should be
visible; if a signal does not appear, move the repeater to a position where signals from all
transmitters are heard.
Touching Abort Listen or pressing “A” on the keyboard stops the listening process.
