History of New Features

The following sections outline the history of new features in the AT-S63
Management Software.

Version 4.1.0

AlliedWare Plus™ Command Line: This version includes new
AlliedWare Plus commands.

Group Link Control: This feature is used to group the link states of
ports on the switches, to enhance the operability of redundant systems
in network topologies. For background information, refer to Chapter
16, “Group Link Control” on page 187
.

IGMP Snooping Querier: This feature allows the switches to function
as proxy multicast routers by generating IGMPv1 and v2 queries.

RSTP BDPU Guard: This feature disables RSTP edge ports if they
receive BPDU packets. For background information, refer to “RSTP
BPDU Guard” on page 281.

RSTP Loop Guard: This feature prevents RSTP from creating loops in
network topologies when there is a cessation of ingress BPDUs on
RSTP ports. For background information, refer to “RSTP Loop Guard”
on page 283.

Link Flap Protection: This feature protects switch operations and
network topologies by disabling ports that are unable to maintain
reliable connections to network devices. For background information,
refer to Chapter 9, “Link-flap Protection” on page 119.

Static Port Trunks and LACP Trunks: The total number of static port
trunks and LACP trunks supported on stand-alone switches and stacks
has been increased to 32 trunks from six trunks.

Version 4.0.0

Stand-alone AT-9400 Switches

Here are the new and enhanced features in AT-S63 Management
Software for stand-alone switches:

Stand-alone switches now support up to three manager sessions at
one time. To adjust this feature, which has a default setting of one
manager session, use the SET SYSTEM command.

The 802.1x port-based network access control feature is now fully
compliant with the following:

— Microsoft Network Access Protocol on Windows Server

2008, Windows Vista, and Windows XP Service Pack 3

— Symantec Network Access Control

The management software has a new command line interface based
on the commands in the AlliedWare Plus operating system found on
other Allied Telesis products, such as the Layer 3 switches. If you are
