IDS Talkback

The IDS talkback function accepts status data from dimmers, color scrollers, and
other IDS-capable equipment over pair 2 of the DMX cable. When active this
display shows “raw data” from any devices communicating over the alternate
pair:

From this display, dimmer levels can be set, and status messages returned can
be viewed. To set dimmer levels, press Û to go to the DMX-512 Tx (transmit)
display. Levels can be set using the usual command line entry, or via channel
test mode. Returning to talkback is achieved by pressing MENU 1. Any
incoming status messages will be displayed.

Please consult the equipment’s manufacturer for IDS “plain English” data
translations.

Internal Utilities

The DMXDart contains a menu designed specifically for internal utility functions –
functions that do not relate to the analysis of DMX equipment. This menu is
called the BOOT menu. To enter the boot menu, first turn the DMXDart off.

While holding the 4 key, press PWR. This will load the boot menu:

This menu performs all of the functions with regards to operating software
installation and backup.
