Filter Settings tab
When you click a [Detail] button (the condition number data button for the data you want to
display) while the Filter Settings tab is active, the screen shown below is displayed.

Item Explanation
-Logfile-
Displays the log file name.
-Event Type- Displays the event type(s). Multiple event types are possible; they
are delimited with a slash “/”.
-Event Source- Displays the source name(s).
-Event ID- Displays the event ID(s).
-Description
Keyword-
Displays the description keyword.
-Data Filter Bytes
(hex)-
Displays the data filter bytes in hexadecimal.
-Data Filter Offset
(dec)-
Displays the data filter offset in decimal.
-Event Merging
Interval (sec)-
Displays the “Event Merging Interval” in seconds.
FILTER ITEM EXPLANATION
Description Keyword If this keyword is contained in the description of the event log,
the event is found.
Data Filter Bytes If this Data Filter Bytes is contained in the data of the event log,
the event matches.
Data Filter Offset You can specify an offset value. For example, if “3” is specified
as offset, then the rule matches, if the data filter bytes match
the event data bytes from the 3
rd byte on.
Event Merging Interval If there are many identical events within a specified time
interval, then HEW can be configured to only display the first of
these events. After the interval is over, the event is recorded
again.
