NOTE:

The RKI Four Gas Cylinder typically contains 12% O

2

by

volume. Be sure to set the “OXY” reading to agree with the
concentration listed on the cylinder’s label.

6. With the calibration values screen displayed, press the POWER/

ENTER button. CAL. along the left side of the LCD begins to flash
and the current gas readings are displayed.

7. Connect the tubing from the gas bag to the rigid tube on the probe.

Allow the GX-2003 to sample gas for approximately one minute.

WARNING:

Do not connect the regulator or dispensing valve to the GX-2003.
Applying gas to the GX-2003 directly with the regulator or
dispensing valve can result in damage to the GX-2003’s pump.

8. Press and release the POWER/ENTER button to set the calibration

to the programmed values.

If all channels passed calibration,

AUTO CALIBRATION END

displays, then the calibration menu displays.

If any of the sensors cannot calibrate to the proper value,

FAIL

PUSH AIR KEY

displays and the GX-2003 lists the sensor(s) that

failed to calibrate. In the example below, the OXY and H

2

S

channels failed calibration. The other sensors calibrated normally.

The buzzer, vibrator, and alarm lights activate. Press and hold the
▲AIR button for a few seconds to reset the alarm and return to the
calibration menu. Attempt to calibrate again. If the failure
continues, investigate the cause. See the “Troubleshooting” section
in the Operator’s Manual.

9. Disconnect the tubing from the GX-2003’s probe.

10. Use the (SHIFT)▼ button to place the cursor next to the NORMAL

OPERATION

menu option, then press and release the POWER

ENTER button to return to Measuring Mode.
