To Test the Internal Printer:
1.
Select the first System Test menu.
2.
Press 7. The Internal Printer menu is displayed.
3.
Select the desired option using the numeric key to start the test.
4.
Examine the printouts to determine that the corresponding characters are legibly printed.
To Test the Battery:
1.
Select the second System Test menu.
2.
Press 1. The Battery Test prompt is displayed.
3.
Verify that Battery OK is displayed. If the battery test is unacceptable, Battery BAD will be
displayed. CHARGING is displayed if the instrument is connected to the AC/DC Power Module.
DISCHARGING is displayed if the instrument is being run from the battery.
4.
Press CANCEL to stop the test and return to the System Test menu.
To Test a Connected Barcode Reader:
1.
Select the second System Test menu.
2.
Press 2. The Wand Reading prompt is displayed.
3.
Scan a barcode label. Verify that the human-readable characters displayed match the label.
4.
Press CANCEL to stop the test and return to the System Test menu.
To Run the Beeper Test:
1.
Select the second System Test menu.
2.
Press 3. The Beeper Test prompt is displayed.
3.
Press any numeral key. Verify that the system beeps the corresponding number of times.
4.
Press CANCEL to stop the test and return to the System Test menu.
To Test the E 2 PROM:
1.
Select the second System Test menu.
2.
Press 4. The test is carried out automatically and the results displayed.
3.
Press any key to return to the previous menu.
To View the System Fault List:
1.
Select the second System Test menu.
2.
Press 5. The System Faults listing is displayed.
3.
Each listed component is followed by either OK if it is functioning properly or N/G if there is a
malfunction.
Note: Refer to the Troubleshooting section for causes and corrective action for system faults.
To Print the System Test Results:
1.
Select the second System Test menu.
2.
Press 6. The Print System menu is displayed:

Press the numeral key corresponding to the option to be printed.
