Set the power switch to STBY (standby position) or
ON to turn on the SB-24.
With alkaline-manganese batteries:
if the ready-iight takes more than 30 seconds to light
up, replace batteries with a fresh set.
With NiCd batteries:
If the ready-light takes more than 10 seconds to light
up, recharge them.
