9. Set switch DS1 line buildout (lbo) to required DSX-1 equalization or CSU attenuation with the

following command:

set ds1 <n> lbo <setting>

Example:

set ds1 25 lbo 3

The setting is a number from 1 to 9, and is defined as follows:

Setting

Definition

1

Set DSX-1 equalization for 0-133 ft.

2

Set DSX-1 equalization for 133-266 ft.

3

Set DSX-1 equalization for 266-399 ft.

4

Set DSX-1 equalization for 399-533 ft.

5

Set DSX-1 equalization for 533-666 ft.

6

Set CSU attenuation for LBO of 0dB.

7

Set CSU attenuation for LBO of -7.5dB.

8

Set CSU attenuation for LBO of -15dB.

9

Set CSU attenuation for LBO of -22.5dB.

NOTE:

When loop request detection is turned on, the Access Navigator will respond to

T1.403 ESF bit patterned loop requests. Detection is normally turned on for “switch” and
“groom” DS1s and turned off for “drop” DS1s. This allows higher level equipment to test
the Access Navigator, and allows the Access Navigator to test remote CSUs such as
Access Banks.

10. Set switch DS1 loop code detection to on or off with the following command:

set ds1 <n> loopdetect <on|off>

Example:

set ds1 25 loopdetect on

NOTE:

The Facility Data Link (FDL) channel is an 4 Kbps out-of-band communications

link provided by the DS1 Extended Superframe (ESF) format. The default setting is "none".
Switch DS1s do not use FDL, so the FDL protocol must be set to “none”.

11. Set switch DS1 FDL protocol to "none" with the following command:

set ds1 <n> fdl none

Example:

set ds1 25 fdl none

Example:

set ds1 25-32 fdl none
