REMOTE ACCESS CONFIGURATION SCREEN
This screen provides functions for specifying configuration settings.
Remote Access SDO
Optimal and Fail-Safe default settings: Enabled
Serial Port Number
SDO
This function is used to select the serial port for console redirection. It is not available if Remote
Access is set to Disabled.
Optimal and Fail-Safe default settings: COM1
SETTING DESCRIPTION
Disabled Use this setting to prevent the BIOS from using Remote Access.
Enabled Use this setting to permit the system to use the remote access feature.
The remote access feature requires a dedicated serial port connection.
SETTING DESCRIPTION
COM1 Use this setting to select COM1 (communication port 1) as the remote access interface.
COM2 Use this setting to select COM2 (communication port 2) as the remote access interface.
COM3 COM3 is the COM port of the 82571EB Ethernet controller. Console redirection is not sup-
ported on this port.
