To reset the tape counter

Press [DECK1/2] to select the deck.

Press [COUNTER RESET].

When the tuner or DVD mode display shows, the tape counter

display will appear for about 1 second.

Q Press [COUNTER DISPLAY].

Q Press [COUNTER RESET] while the tape coun­

ter is being displayed

(for approximately 5 seconds).

For your reference

•When the tape is travelling in the reverse direction, the tape counter

will count down. After “000_" is reached, the display wilt switch to
“999„" and then continue counting down,

• It is useful, for example, to reset the counter when recording from

the middle of tapes. The number lets you know roughly where you
started from.

To fast forward or rewind the tape

Press [<4] or [^^] while the tape is stopped.

For your reference

• Each deck's play direction is stored in the system's memory.

•You can fast forward or rewind the tape while you are playing or

recording a tape in another deck. Press [DECK 1/2] to switch to the
non playing deck, and then press [◄◄] or [►►].

To find the beginning of a program

(TPS: tape program sensor)

Press [<4] or [P-^] while the tape is playing.

If the forward side (>) is playing:
►►: To the beginning of the next tune

: To the beginning of the present tune

Then the tune will play again.

If the reverse side (<) of the tape is playing:

The reverse operation wili take place.

TPS searches for silent parts of about 4 seconds normally found be­
tween tunes. As a result, it may not function properly In the following

cases.
•With short silent parts

•When noise occurs between tunes

•With silent parts found between tunes
