Example Programs
The example program in this section shows how to create a loopback program on the PLC. This loopback program will
simply take any information it receives from the DeviceMaster UP, on the serial port or TCP/IP port, and writes it back
out the same interface.
•
The first step is to create your configuration with the controller, add the PROFINET IO network, install the GSD file for
PNIO then install the input and output modules.
• In order to install the GSD you will first need a copy of it. This can be obtained by downloading it from the device's
home page. To do this, type the device's IP address into your browser, then right click on the Download Link next to
the GSDML File: text, then save the file to your Desktop or another location where Step7 can find it. The home page
is shown below:
