LISTENING TO THE RADIO

1 Set the FUNCTION switch to RADIO.

2 Press the BAND button repeatedly to select a

band.

3 Turn the +/-TUNING button to select a station.

After listening

Set the FUNCTION switch to TAPE/POWER 6 STANDBY.

For quick tuning

Keep either +/-TUNING button pressed for 1 - 2 seconds.

When a station is tuned in to, the search stops.
To stop the search manually, press the +/-TUNING button.

• The search may not stop at a station with very weak signals.

For better reception □

AM
Turn the unit to find the position which gives the best reception.

FM

Extend the FM antenna and place it in the position that sounds

best.

To change the AM tuning step
The AM tuning step is factory-set to 10 kHz. If this unit is used in

area where the frequency allocation system is 9 kHz, press the

BAND button while pressing the BSTOP button.
Operate during AM reception. When the AM tuning step is
changed, the preset stations are cleared.

When an FM stereo broadcast is received
The FM STEREO indicator lights up.

When the FM stereo broadcast contains noise

Press the TUNER MODE/OSC button to display MONO. Noise

is reduced, although reception is monaural. To restore stereo
reception, press the button again.
