WAN See Wide Area Network (WAN) .
Wide Area Network (WAN) A computer or voice network
which connects two or more
different locations. A campus
environment, where all buildings
are close by, is generally
considered a LAN (Local Area
Network). When the locations
connected have different postal
codes, the term WAN applies.
