DTE

Alarms

This status line displays the selected element’s current DTE signal alarm state. The
Alarm State for the DSU MP port is shown on the DTE Alarms Status Line as
slot, DSU, port, and alarm type, for example, 2-3A-DTR and 2-3-ASC. ASC,
FDL, and LOS are DSU specific. LOS alarm is the loss of signal from the far end.
LOS and FDL are only detectable in TXP-I and TXP-II modes. FDL alarm is
shown when CRC errors are detected within the FDL.

DTE Alarm can be enabled or disabled in the DSU MP Configuration Screen at
the Alarm on DTR Loss parameter. If DTE Alarm has more alarms than fit on one
line, square brackets ( [ ] ) appear on the ends of the line and the field scrolls by
pressing the spacebar.

(Alarm status)

The main body of the Alarms screen shows the current count for parameters that
may be used to trigger an alarm.

The Current column shows the total of the preceding 15 one-minute intervals. At
the end of each one-minute interval, the oldest minute of the 15-minute interval is
discarded.

The Threshold column shows the values set in the Alarm Configuration screen
(Figure 4-13 on page 4 -55). Any parameter that has a current value equal to or
greater than its non-zero threshold generates an alarm. Any parameter with a
threshold value of 0 is disabled from generating alarms.

The parameters shown on the Alarms Screen are updated at five-second intervals.

Power Loss

Seconds

Displays the number of seconds that the element has been without power since this
value was last cleared.
