User’s Guide
Quick Source
A quick source button selects a source and performs an immediate take (to the destination of
the control unit in which the quick source button is located).
Quick source and source buttons are similar, except that the quick source performs a take. Be
aware of which buttons are quick sources so you do not perform an accidental take.
Normally, the button text is the source’s mnemonic, but the configurer can assign any text to the
button.
Salvo
A salvo button presets an NV9000 system salvo. A subsequent press of a ‘Take’ button is
required to execute the salvo. (If you press any other button, the pending salvo is canceled.)
The button legend is typically the salvo name.
Source
A source button selects a source. (Note that a quick source button selects a source and also
performs an immediate take.)
Quick source and source buttons are similar, except that the quick source performs a take. Be
aware of which buttons are quick sources so you do not perform an accidental take.
Normally, the button text is the source device’s mnemonic, but the configurer can assign any
text to the button.
Take
A take button routes the chosen source to the destination device for the control unit in which
the take button is located. (The source must have been selected in the same control unit.)
The default button text is “Take” but the button can have any legend.
Undefined
An undefined button cannot be used and appears dark (unlit) on the panel. The term “unde-
fined button” has meaning primarily to the configurer and not the operator.
Buttons for the LCD XY/MD Model
Under the LCD XY/MD model, the 27 buttons and 3 displays of the panel form an integrated
unit. The 3 displays work together. The left-most display shows the preset source; the middle
display shows the current source and the right-most display shows the current destination.
Under the LCD XY/MD model, there are about 21 button types, not including “undefined” which
is not a true button type:
