Tone or pulse dialling

The home base station can send tones (default) or pulses when
dialling a number. If your cordless telephone system normally
uses pulse dialling you can switch to tone dialling if
required, for example to control a teleservice.

To switch the cordless phone to tone dialling during
a call, press and then *. When you hang up the
cordless phone reverts to the pulse dialling again. The
tone or pulse dialling setting is retained during power
off.

What dialling method?

You can easily check whether tone or pulse dialling
is required. Proceed as follows:

1. Check if the home base station is set to tone

dialling which is default.

2. Press .

You hear the dial tone.

3. Dial the number of someone you know.

If the external line supports tone dialling you will
hear the phone ring.

If you dialled the number and still hear the dial tone,
you have to set the home base station to pulse dialling.

Set the dialling method as follows:

1. Press and then press the R key for 2 seconds.

Four dashes are displayed.

2. Enter the PIN code for the home base station

(default is 1111).
Two dashes are displayed.

3. Enter 61.

The current method is displayed (2 = tone
dialling, 3 = pulse dialling).

4. Enter one digit to set the dialling method:

‘2’ to set tone dialling

‘3’ to set pulse dialling

5. Press and then press .

The dialling method is now changed.

For teleservices you may need to change the dialling
method to tones or long tones temporarily. See the
topics following for more details.
