Model MicroCEM

b. Manometer Method

Install a water-filled U-tube manometer at
the sample gas outlet. Install a shut-off
valve at the sample gas inlet. Admit air or
inert gas to the inlet shut-off valve until
the analyzer is pressurized to approxi-
mately 50 hPa. The water column will be
about 500 mm.

Close the inlet shut-off valve and, follow-
ing a brief period for pressure equilibrium,
verify that the height of the water column
does not drop over a period of about 5
minutes. If the water column height drops,
the system is leaking and must be cor-
rected before the introduction of any
flammable sample gas or application of
power.
