Sticky Key Functionality

Sticky key functionality is supported for the CTRL key, which means that you don’t have to press and hold
the CTRL key when you press the next key. Instead, just tap CTRL and then the next key.

You need to open RegEdit and enable the
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD key.

1.

Tap Start > Power Tools > RegEdit

.

2.

Tap the + sign.

3.

Tap HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > HARDWARE > DEVICEMAP > KEYBD.

4.

In the bottom half of the window, double-tap the StickyCtrlAlt key and change the Value Data from
“0” to “1.”

5.

Tap OK, then OK in the upper right corner to save the change to the registry.

6.

Press the CTRL key combination with other keys to verify that you do not need to hold them down
while you press the next key. For an example of CTRL key combinations, see
