Software features by connection type

The HP Color LaserJet 1600 printer can function in one of two installations:

Directly connected to a computer; local user

Directly connected to a computer running Microsoft Windows 98 SE, Microsoft Windows Me,
Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP, or Microsoft Windows Server 2003, and shared
through Microsoft Windows sharing.

NOTE

This document outlines the procedures for sharing a printer using Microsoft

Windows Sharing (Peer-to-Peer networking). If these procedures are not successful,
contact Microsoft at the following Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com

. HP does not support

Peer-to-Peer networking, as the feature is a function of Microsoft operating systems and not
of the HP printer drivers.

The following table shows the features available to users through each type of connection.
