Selecting DIGITAL OUT.
Every time you press [ENTER] button, DIGITAL OUT changes as
follows: BITSTREAM ➝ LPCM ➝ BITSTREAM ➝ ...
Set audio output to coaxial or optical. You can set the outgoing
digital signal to BITSTREAM or LPCM:
• BITSTREAM : The raw audio signal recorded on the disc goes to
the digital audio output.
• LPCM : The decoded audio signal goes to the digital audio output.

To set the DVD+VCR to match the capabilities of your audio system:
While in Stop mode, press
[SETUP].

Select a Dynamic Range
You can set the Dynamic Range as follows:
• OFF : You can hear the sound as it was originally recorded on the
disc.
• FULL : You can hear loud sounds softer and soft sounds louder.

Selecting TV ASPECT.
Every time you press [ENTER], TV ASPECT changes as follows: 4:3 LB
➝
16:9 WIDE ➝ 4:3 PS ➝ ...
If you select “4:3 LB”, you can watch the original widescreen movie,
but black bars will appear above and below the picture.
If you select “4:3 PS”, the picture will fill the screen but the sides of
the movie will be cropped.
If a disc size is originally recorded in 4:3, you cannot watch it in wide
screen even if TV ASPECT is set to “16:9 WIDE”.

To set the DVD+VCR to match the capabilities of your TV:
Selecting VIDEO OUT.
Every time you press [ENTER], VIDEO OUT changes as follows: S-VIDEO
➝
COMPONENT ➝ ...
You may set VIDEO OUT to S-VIDEO or COMPONENT.
* If VIDEO OUT is set to S-VIDEO, you cannot set SCAN MODE. Only when
VIDEO OUT is set to COMPONENT, you can set SCAN MODE.

Selecting SCAN MODE.
Every time you press [ENTER], SCAN MODE changes as follows:
INTERLACED ➝ PROGRESSIVE ➝ ...
You may set SCAN MODE to INTERLACED or PROGRESSIVE.
* If SCAN MODE is set to “INTERLACED”, connect Y/Pb/Pr on the DVD+VCR
to the INTERLACED input on your TV.
If SCAN MODE is set to “PROGRESSIVE”, connect Y/Pb/Pr on the DVD+VCR
to the PROGRESSIVE SCAN input on your TV.
