AUTO REDIAL

BUSY/NO SIGNAL

CARTRIDGE JAMMED

The fax is waiting to redial the
receiving number because the
line was busy or the receiving
party did not answer when
you tried to send the
document.

The telephone number you
dialled is busy.

The fax number dialled was
incorrect.

The other party’s fax machine
is not working.

The other party is not using a
G3 machine.

The touch tone/rotary pulse
setting on your fax is
incorrect.

The receiving fax machine did
not answer within 55 seconds
(after all automatic redialling
attempts).

The cartridge holder cannot
move. This is normally due to
a paper jam.

The scanner unit may not be
in the fully upright position.

Wait for the fax to automatically
redial the number. If you want
to cancel automatic redialling,
wait until the fax starts dialling
the number, and press [Stop]
(see p. 5-9).

Try sending the document at a
later time.

Check the fax number and dial
again.

Contact the other party and
have them check their fax
machine.

Contact the other party and ask
them to send or receive the
document using a G3 machine.

Set your fax to the setting that
matches your telephone line
(see p. 1-12).

Contact the receiving party and
have them check their fax
machine. You can try to send
the document using manual
sending (see p. 5-4). For long-
distance call, add pauses to the
registered number (see p. 5-8).

Clear the paper jam or
whatever is obstructing the
cartridge holder and then press
[Stop] and start again. Do not
attempt to move the cartridge
holder manually.

Press the document release
button, then gently move the
scanner unit to the fully upright
position.
