Setting TAM MODE allows you to receive telephone messages and fax transmissions while the fax
is unattended. When you cancel TAM MODE, any new telephone messages will be played
automatically.

Setting TAM MODE

When TAM MODE is set and a call is received, the fax will respond as described below.

1

The fax will ring 2 or 5 times, when TOLL SAVER is set to ON, depending on whether there are
any telephone messages (see p. 7-5).

When TOLL SAVER is set to OFF, you can specify the number of times the fax will ring.

2

The outgoing message is played to the other party.

3

If the other party sends a fax after they leave a message, or if the call is a fax call, the fax is
received automatically.

n

When the fax is set to MANUAL MODE and MAN/AUTO SWITCH has been set to OFF, TAM
MODE will be activated if the fax rings 15 times and the call is not answered (only when an
outgoing message has been recorded). When the call is disconnected, the fax returns to MANUAL
MODE.
