6.5 Factory Defaults
DIL Switches
When supplied, the four DIL switches on the switch are set to OFF as default.
Notice
Before starting up for the first time, check the switch settings.
● RM
is set to OFF. This means that the redundancy manager function is disabled.
● STBY
is set to OFF. This switch is intended for future applications and is does not cur-
rently have any function.
● R1, R2
are set to OFF. Both (electrical) gigabit ports on slot 5 are defined as ring ports.
Further Device Properties
With R1 and R2, ring redundancy is enabled when the device ships.
Notice
In this mode, RSTP / STP cannot be activated.
C-PLUG
When delivered, the C-PLUG is empty and is initialized with the factory settings
when first started up. All subsequent configuration changes are automatically
adopted in the internal memory of the SCALANCE X414-3E and in the C-PLUG.
