When an extension telephone is connected

TEL/FAX delayed ring setting

The number of rings generated before the fax
machine answers depends on the setting of feature
#78 on page 77. The fax machine will not generate
an audible ring during this time.

Silent fax recognition ring setting

The fax machine generates audible rings to
indicate that it is receiving a phone call. The
number of rings generated depends on the setting
of feature #30 on page 73. This signal will not ring
on an extension telephone.

Phone call

The fax machine will not ring, but
the extension telephone will ring

A call is received.

The fax machine will automatically
receive documents without
ringing.

Answer the call.

If the call is not answered, this

Then the fax machine will activate the

fax function for a case in which the
other party’s fax machine does not
send a fax calling tone.

The extension telephone will not ring but
the fax machine will ring 3 times.
Duration depends on silent fax
recognition ring setting.
