Chapter 4.

Troubleshooting

This chapter describes how to solve some common problems,
as well as how to change the two fuses on the Station.

Solving Problems --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have problems you cannot correct, call Technical
Support at the number listed on the back of this manual. See
the 9490 Operator’s Handbook for solutions to problems with
your printers. See the MPCLII Packet Reference Manual for
solutions to problems with online packets.

Printer indicates
a low battery,
even when the
battery is
charged.

The printer’s battery voltage selection is
incorrect. When connected to the Station, the
printer must be set to 12 volts.

Print a test label. The printer voltage is
indicated after the printer’s model number.
Make sure the Model: line says M9490:12v.
See Addressing a Monarch 9490 Printer to
set the printer voltage.

None of the
Station printers
print.

There are three possible problems:

The Station’s battery is low.

One of the printers is set to an incorrect
voltage.

One of the printers has a full data buffer.

Turn the printers off to clear the buffers. If
the printers still do not print, see the previous
error description to check each printer’s
voltage selection. If the voltage selection is
correct (12V), charge the Station’s battery.
