Telecommunications Requirements

The following information applies only to Passport 4400 units that are connected
to a telephone network.

Repair Instructions

If you experience trouble with this equipment, follow this procedure:

1.

Determine whether the problem is your data terminal equipment. If you

have another data terminal equipment, connect it in place of the
inoperative unit to see if the data terminal equipment or the line is at fault.

2.

If you find the problem is in your Nortel equipment, contact your customer

service representative.

The telephone company may ask you to disconnect this equipment from the
network until the problem has been corrected or you are sure that the equipment
is not malfunctioning.

User’s Responsibility

You must supply the following information upon request:

• Whether the notification is about a connection or disconnection

• The manufacturer of the device – Northern Telecom

• Model number of the device:

— Passport 4430ac: QMY922x

— Passport 4450ac: QMY923x

— Passport 4450acR: QMY924x

— Passport 4450dc: QMY926x

— Passport 4450dcR: QMY927x

• FCC Part 68 (U.S.A. T1) – see label on card for registration number

• DOC CS-03 (Canada) – see label on card for registration number

• Jack to be used – RJ48C or RJ11.

telephone network. Attempts to repair the unit are violations of
FCC rules. Repair to this equipment can only be made by the
manufacturer, and its authorized agents, and by others who
