USING THE MACHINE

The machine can be used in the following modes:

Transport mode
Working mode

To transport the machine (without sweeping), perform the
following procedure:

Start the engine as shown in the previous paragraph.
Check that the hopper (2, Fig. E-F) is lowered.
Check that the suction fan is off; check that the lever (18,
Fig. B - 30 Fig. C) is lowered.
Gradually turn the engine throttle lever (19, Fig. B - 29,
Fig. C) to “MAX”.
Disengage the parking brake with the lever (21, Fig.
B-C).
Start to transport the machine, by keeping the hands on
the steering wheel (20, Fig. B-C) and gradually pressing
the pedal (25), on the front side to move forward and on
the rear side to move backward.
The drive speed can be adjusted from zero to maximum
speed by increasing the pressure on the pedal.

WARNING!
Remind that the steering is on the rear axle.

To stop the machine release the pedal (25, Fig. B-C).
To stop the machine quickly, press also the brake pedal
(26, Fig. B-C).
Turn the engine throttle lever (19, Fig. B - 29, Fig. C) to
“MIN”, and hold it in this position for a few minutes to let
the system stabilize.
Turn off the engine, by turning the ignition key (17, Fig.
B-C) counterclockwise, to the end of stroke, then remove
it.
Engage the parking brake with the lever (21, Fig. B-C).

Set the machine to working mode according to the
following procedure:

CAUTION!
Do not use the sweeper on wetted surfaces.

Start the engine as shown in the previous paragraph.
Check that the hopper (2, Fig. E-F) is lowered.
Gradually turn the engine throttle lever (19, Fig. B - 29,
Fig. C) to “MAX”.
Turn on the suction fan (25, Fig. F) by turning the
distributor lever (18, Fig. B - 30 Fig. C) upward.

CAUTION!
When the machine is set to working mode and
it is operating on damp grounds, the suction
fan must be turned off; turn it on again when
working on dry grounds.

Open the hopper skirt (19, Fig. F) by pushing and holding
the left distributor lever (1, Fig. B-C).
Lower the main broom (29, Fig. E) by shifting the
distributor lever (4, Fig. B-C) to the left. By performing
this procedure the main broom will be turned on.
If necessary, lower the right side broom (20, Fig. E) too,
by lowering the centre distributor lever (3, Fig. B-C). By
performing this procedure the right side broom will be
turned on. The same lever operates the left side broom
(22, Fig. E).
Disengage the parking brake with the lever (21, Fig.
B-C).
Start sweeping, by keeping the hands on the steering
wheel (20, Fig. B-C) and gradually pressing the pedal
(25), on the front side to move forward and on the rear
side to move backward.
The drive speed can be adjusted from zero to maximum
speed by increasing the pressure on the pedal.

CAUTION!
The broom can be lifted and lowered even when
the machine is moving.
The brooms do not turn when they are lifted.

CAUTION!
When suctioning function is not effi cient, the
hopper must be emptied.
