Installing ADVANTECH ™ Handheld Software
ADVANTECH
™ Handheld Software is downloaded
from the PC to the Palm ™ handheld via the HotSync ®
process.
Important:
ADVANTECH
™ Management Software and the
Palm ™ software must already be installed on your PC.
The HotSync ® Manager must also be running. See
the Palm owner’s manual for more information
1. Launch the Management Software by clicking on
Start, Programs, ADVANTECH,
ADVANTECH™ Management Software or by
clicking on the shortcut icon from the
Windows ®
Desktop.
2. First, you will be prompted to fill in the
New
Location Information dialog box with a name,
address, and phone number for one of your
laundry locations. Fill in the appropriate
information, and click on
Submit. See Note on
page 16.
3. Next, you will be prompted to enter a New
Owner Password. Enter a password and click
on
Enter.
Important:
The
New Owner Password prevents unauthorized
access to your machines by any PDA that has not
been synced with your copy of the Management
Software.
A lost Owner ID cannot be restored;
therefore you should write it down and store it in a
safe place. If you forget your Owner ID then all of your
machines will have to be factory reset and reinitialized
and the Owner ID file will have to be deleted before
the Management Software can be reinstalled. See
Appendix for reinstall procedures or contact the
