8.

The limit-value contacts must be used variably as normally closed

contacts or normally open contacts (each with three connection

terminals with switch symbol).

All externally connected lines must be shielded, all shields are

screwed to the terminal block near to the hinge!

Startup

After the installation of the device, the reagents are placed in the
refrigerator.
Refer to

section Exchange of the reagents

.

Upon full hose connection including drain hose, the power plug can be
plugged in both for the refrigerator and for the measurement device.
This begins the measurement operation immediately. All device settings
are described in the software menu system.

Passcode Protection

To protect the device from unauthorized access or unwanted operation,
a password function can be activated directly at commissioning or later
at any time via a laptop by the HACH-LANGE employee. The passcode
is four digits and each of these consists of the numbers 1–4, which can
be freely programmed.

Shutdown

Note: Please observe during the handling of the reagents the safety
notes under

section Exchange of the reagents

.

So that no crystallization or other major impurities impede a subsequent
commissioning, the entire system must be purged for a shutdown of

more than 48 hours with distilled water (

section Software menu system,

page 98

[+SERVICE] PRE PUMPING and

section Cleaning tasks,

page 106

).

Purge process

1.

Call up [+SERVICE] menu

2.

Unscrew screw caps from the reagent canisters A, C and D

complete with the suction pipes (please unscrew ORIGINAL CAP)

and place in a beaker with distilled water

3.

Pull out the hose from the standard solution, remove screw cap,

three hose pinch valves

Analysis part

Dosing hoses are hoses that are routed via the sample- and reagent
pumps. Each dosing hose may only be used on the corresponding
sample- or reagent pump.
Note: After 3 months, replace the sample dosing hose, the drain hose
and the hose for the standard. Coat the pump rollers of the sample pump
with silicone paste.
After 6 months, replace the dosing hoses for the reagents A, C and D.

N O T I C E

For a long-term shutdown (over 2 days), the valve hoses must be removed from
the pinch valves to provide relief. But because of the return flow risk, the hoses
must first be removed from the respective screw caps (canister lids)! Please
observe during the handling of the reagents the safety notes under

section

Exchange of the reagents

.

N O T I C E

For all work on the dosing- and valve hoses, always remove the dosing hoses
from the respective canisters first. (Return flow hazard). Please observe during
the handling of the reagents the safety notes under

section Exchange of the rea-

gents
