CHAPTER 1 Description of LOADTRONIC 3

LOADTRONIC 3 is an automatic and dynamic weighing system for wheel
loaders. It is automatic in the respect that the load in the bucket is weighed
without any involvement from the operator and dynamic as the weighing is
done while the machine operates normally without any interruption for
weighing.

LOADTRONIC 3 is type approved as Automatic Catchweigher according to
MID-directive MI-006 and OIML R51.

1.1 Sensors

LOADTRONIC 3 has two pressure sensors fitted to the hydraulics of the
wheel loader. These sensors measure the forces applied to the lifting arm
system, refer LOADTRONIC 3 Installation Guide.

There are two more sensors in the system:

x

One angular sensor (inclinometer) which measures the position of the
lifting arms.

x

One acceleration sensor which measures the movement (acceleration,
retardation and the inclination of the machine).

There is one switch in the system:

x

One bucket position switch to signal when the bucket is fully retracted.

x

In addition, the system is connected to the reverse signal of the machine.

1.2 Main Unit

The main unit is a combined operator’s display and a computer unit. The
main unit is mounted on the right corner post in the cabin, and has the
following functions:

x

To read sensor signals.

x

To compute and analyze measured data.

x

To control the automatic weighing function.

x

To record and report the weighing results.
