Installation Instructions

0207005 2" Receiver Mount for

TGS01A, TGS01B, TGS05A, &

TGS05B Spreaders

—continued on back

Check contents of spreader mount kit with the bill of
materials to make sure all components are included. When
ordering replacement or spare parts, reference parts list for
part numbers.

TOOLS REQUIRED

• 3/8" or 1/2" drive ratchet
• 3/4" sockets or wrenches
• 15/16" wrench

INSTALLATION

1. Assemble the pintle mount (item 1) to the large angle

bracket (item 2) using four 1/2" x 1-1/2" bolts, four 1/2" flat
washers, & four 1/2" lock nuts. We recommend bolting
the angle to the pintle mount in the highest raise position
using the top set of holes. The height of the spreader can
be adjusted lower at a later time if there is extra clearance
between the truck bed & the mount.

2. Bolt the pintle mount & angle assembly (step 1) to the

bottom of the spreader frame. For the TGS01 A, TGS01B,
& TGS05A models use two 1/2" x 1-1/2" bolts, four 1/2" flat
washers, & two 1/2” lock nuts. For the TGS05B models use
two 1/2" x 5" bolts, two 1/2" flat washers, & two 1/2" lock nuts.

3. Assemble the upper mounting brackets (item 3 & 4) to

the spreader frame using two 1/2" x 1-1/2" bolts, four 1/2"
flat washers, & two 1/2" lock nuts in each. We recommend
bolting the upper mounting brackets in the highest position.
The brackets may be adjusted lower if there is extra
clearance between the mount & the top of truck bed.

4. Mount one small angle (item 10) to the top of each upper

mounting bracket using one 1/2" x 1-1/2" bolts, two 1/2"
flat washers, & two 1/2" lock nuts for each connection. Do
not tighten at this time the angle needs to pivot until the
assembly is complete.

5. Determine which size stake pocket anchor block (item

6a or 6b) fits tightest in the trucks stake pocket holes. For
some trucks the large stake pocket anchor block (item 6a)
may need to be trimmed to fit tightly into the truck's stake
pocket. This may be done cutting the rubber using a hack
saw.

6. Build the two stake pocket anchors by assembling the

small angle (item 10), top plate (item 8), rubber pad (item 5),
anchor block (item 6 from step 5), & bottom plate (item 7)
with the 3/8-16 x 3 bolt (item 9).

7. Install the stake pocket anchors into the truck’s rear stake

pockets & tighten enough that they won’t pull out.

8. Assemble one 5/8" jam nut (item 14) & one clevis (item 11)

to each end of the threaded rods (item 12a or 12b) but do
not tighten locking nuts against the clevises. Use the long
threaded rod (item 12b) for the TGS01 spreader models & the
short threaded rod (item 12a) for the TGS05 spreader models.

9. Install spreader assembly into the truck’s receiver hitch &

install hitch pin (not included.)

10. Install the threaded rod assemblies (step 8) from stake

pocket angles to the spreader mounting angles using the
clevis pins & hair pin cotters (item 13 & 15) supplied. Adjust
the spreader so it is level & vertical by removing one clevis
pin & turning clevis to adjust the length of the threaded rod
assembly.

11. After the spreader is adjusted, tighten all bolts, tighten

jam nuts against the clevises & secure clevis pins with hair
pin cotters.

MAINTENANCE

Before each use all fasteners should be checked for
tightness.
