Note the tip on one side of the guide-hole, as shown in Figures 9 and 10. This tip points to the
current adjustment setting of the scale. In the next step you will move the guide-rail in or out as
needed to select the appropriate setting for the currency, using the value obtained in Step 1 of
this procedure.

8. If this is the right-side guide-rail (as seen from the handle side of the cassette), use the Right

length value obtained in Step 1. If this is the left guide-rail, use the Left length value. While
pulling the rail forward as described in Step 7, grasp the rail with your other hand and move the
rail to the left or right as needed to align the pointer on both guide-holes with the correct
adjustment setting for this rail. Both guide-holes on the rail should be set to the same setting!

9. When both guide-hole pointers are pointing to the correct setting, allow the guide-rail spring to

draw the rail back to the normal position. DO NOT allow the rail to simply snap back on its
own: guide the rail back by slowly releasing pressure on the pull-tab until the rail is in its
normal position.

10. Repeat Steps 6 through 9 on the remaining guide-rail.

11. If metal note-guide arms were removed in Step 2, replace them. If plastic note-guide arms were

moved to the “Not In Use” position, place them in the “In Use” position. After completing the
length adjustment for the second guide-rail, continue with the width adjustment procedure,
described in the next section.
