2.16.3. Operation method

Startup

At startup, the VG model and currently executed resolution are captured, and a screen matching these states is

displayed. In addition, the cursor pattern position changes to the center coordinates and the properties change to the

default values.

1) Connect the VG and monitor, and display the VG's output screen on the monitor.

2) Connect the PC and VG, and turn on the power of the VG.

3) Set the VG to a state in which the cursor pattern is selected after some kind of timing data has been executed. The

cursor pattern is now displayed on the monitor.

4) Start this program from the start menu.

* In the following cases, an error message appears, and no further communication is possible. To resume

communication, either restart the program or press the Reset button on the toolbar after the program has started to

retry communication.

When the VG has not been connected
When no timing data at all has been executed after the power of the VG was turned on
When the cursor pattern has not been selected.

* Retrying communication

Retry communication with the VG.

Just as at the startup stage, the VG model and currently executed resolution are captured, and a screen matching

these states is displayed. In addition, the cursor pattern position changes to the center coordinates and the properties

change to the default values.

Moving the cursor pattern

The coordinates can be changed by dragging the mouse, clicking the arrow buttons or inputting the data directly into

the coordinate boxes.

Method Operation

Dragging the

mouse

This moves the pattern to the coordinates to which the

mouse was dragged.

Clicking the arrow

buttons

This moves the pattern by one pixel each time one of

the buttons is pressed.

Inputting data

directly into the

coordinate boxes

This moves the pattern to the position of the coordinates

which have been input.

Adding to the defective pixel list

Types, coordinates, cursor colors, background colors, dates/times and comments can be added as the defective pixel

data to the defective pixel list.

1) Align the cursor pattern with the defective pixel.

2) In accordance with the defect type, press the button used to add the defective pixel.

3) Select [Input Remarks] on the [Data] menu, and input a comment.

* To delete a line from the defective pixel list, select the line to be deleted, and select [Delete] on the [Data] menu.

To delete all the lines, select [All Delete] on the [Data] menu.

* To create a new defective pixel list, select [New] on the [File] menu.

Click [New] on the [File] menu.

The defective pixel list, comments and filenames are all cleared.
