Product Description 1.1

1.1.1 GENERAL

The instrument is a microprocessor based circular chart Recorder or Recording Controller
capable of measuring, displaying, recording and controlling from a variety of inputs. Applica-
tions include temperature, level, pressure, flow and others. The instruments can be specified
as either a single or as a dual pen model.

Recording, control functions, alarm settings and other parameters are easily entered via the
keypad. All user's data can be protected from unauthorized changes by the Enable mode
security system, and is protected against memory loss, as a result of AC power outage, by
battery back-up.

The process sensor input for each pen is user configurable to directly connect to either
thermocouple, RTD, mVDC, VDC, or mADC inputs. Changes in input type can easily be made
by the user. Thermocouple and RTD linearization, as well as thermocouple cold junction
compensation, are performed automatically. The instrument process variable inputs are
isolated. An isolated 24 VDC regulated transmitter power supply can be provided in the
instrument for use with up to two 4 to 20 mADC process sensor transducers.

The instrument can be ordered to operate on either 115 VAC or 230 VAC power at 50/60 Hz.
The 230 VAC option includes a switch for selecting either 230 VAC or 115 VAC operation.
The instrument is housed in a structural foam enclosure suitable for panel or surface
mounting.
