SKIPPING UNDESIRED TRACKS

1

2

By applying track skip IDs to the tracks which failed or which
consist of a blank, they can be skipped over when the disc is
played later.

NOTE:

Skip playback is not possible with a standard CD player which does
not incorporate the skip function.

Applying skip ID to a track (Track skip)

1

Start playing the track to be skipped.

÷ If skip IDs have already been applied, the SKIP indicator

lights in the display.

2

Press the SKIP ID SET button.

“SKIP” and “SET?” are displayed alternately.

÷ When the 41 or ¡¢ buttons (4 or ¢ on the

remote control unit) are pressed while “SKIP” and “SET?”
are displayed, tracks to which the skip IDs are not applied
will be played in order.

÷ The selected track plays back repeatedly.

÷ When the 3 button or SKIP ID CLEAR button is pressed

during the setting operation, the setting mode is canceled.

3

To apply the skip ID, press the SKIP ID SET
button again.

4

Skip IDs can be applied to other tracks by
repeating steps 1 to 3 for each track.

÷ When an attempt is made to set or clear more skip IDs than

possible, “FULL” is displayed and no more recording is
possible.

5

After having set the necessary skip IDs, press
the OPEN/CLOSE

0 button.

÷ When the button is pressed to remove the disc, the skip ID

setting data is recorded on the disc. At this time, “OPEN” is
displayed for a few seconds, and the tray opens after the
skip ID setting data has been recorded.

CAUTION:
The maximum number of tracks that can have skip ID’s
applied or removed is 21.
If skip ID’s are applied or cleared repeatedly the maximum
number of 21 tracks will be decreased.
Skip ID’s cannot be set or cleared with Pre-recorded CD’s,
finalized CD-R discs, or finalized CD-RW discs.
Please remember that a number of standard CD players do
NOT recognize skip ID’s, and will therefore play tracks that
are marked with a skip ID.
