This command gets information about a Guardian subvolume. The shell quotes preserve special
characters for interpretation by the Guardian process

The gtacl command, its syntax, and its options are fully documented in the gtacl(1) reference
page either online or in the Open System Services Shell and Utilities Reference Manual.

kill Command

To terminate a process running in the Guardian environment, from your home directory in the OSS
environment, enter:

kill -s /G/processname

For example:

kill -s /G/cmon

calls the Guardian PROCESS_STOP_ procedure against the Guardian process named $cmon.

ls Command

To list the files on a Guardian subvolume, from your home directory in the OSS environment, enter:

ls /G/volumename/subvolumename

osh Command

To run the OSS environment from a TACL prompt in the Guardian environment, enter:

osh

This command starts the OSS process and puts you into your home directory in the OSS environment.

In addition to running the OSS environment, the osh command can be used to run specific OSS
commands in the Guardian environment. The syntax is as follows:

osh -p /bin/command

where /bin/command is the OSS pathname for the command you want to run.

For example, entered at the Guardian prompt, the command

osh -p /bin/ls

lists the files in the current Guardian subvolume.

pax Command

The pax command extracts, writes, and lists members of archive files. It also copies files and
directory hierarchies.

pinstall Command

To install OSS commands, utilities, and files to an OSS file hierarchy from the Guardian environment,
enter the following command from the OSS environment:

pinstall -flags pattern

-flags

specifies various options that you can use with the pinstall command, as described

in the pinstall(1) reference page (accessible either online or in the Open System Services
Shell and Utilities Reference Manual)
. pattern specifies the pathnames for one or more archive
members. If no pattern is specified, the default action is to select all archive members.

ps Command

To display information on a specific process identified by its Guardian process name, use the ps
command. For example, the command
