EXAMPLES

The following command merges duplicate database names in SQL repository for all the known
SQL servers which the backup server was managing.

HpRmCli Sql updaterepository

The following command merges duplicate database names in SQL repository for instance
MyInstance in SQL Server MySQLServer.

HpRmCli Sql updaterepository –s MySqlServer –i MyInstance

The following command merges duplicate database names in SQL repository for database
mydatabase of instance MyInstance in SQL Server MySQLServer.

HpRmCli Sql updaterepository –s MySqlServer –i MyInstance –d

mydatabase

NOTE:

When upgrading to Recovery Manager 4.5.0 from any of its earlier versions, SQL Server

2012 availability database properties are not updated. It requires RESCAN or re-registration of
the SQL server.

Verifying the Upgrade

1.

Verify HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for SQL is listed as a service that is currently running.

2.

Check whether you can see the previously created virtual copies in the GUI. Register the SQL
servers again, if necessary.

3.

If you used the Recovery Manager for Backup Server option to install the application, verify
that the HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Microsoft SQL Server icon appears on the desktop.

4.

Verify the registry key. For more information, see

“Understanding the Registry” (page 16)

Uninstalling HP Recovery Manager for SQL

1.

Log on as the system administrator.

2.

Click Start

→Control Panel→Programs and Features.

3.

Select HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Microsoft SQL Server.

4.

Click Uninstall.

NOTE:

After uninstalling Recovery Manager, virtual copies and scheduled tasks still reside

locally in the Data folder as well as on the system. You can remove virtual copies and scheduled
tasks later, if desired.
