If the size of the selected incidents exceeds the capacity of a CD, you will have to de-select (or delete)
incidents before you can archive them to CD. If necessary, you may need to use more than one CD to store
all the incidents that you require, selecting different ones before writing each CD.

Note that a single incident cannot exceed the capacity of a CD. Additionally, each incident must reside
completely on one hard drive. If the evidence you wish to archive crosses from one drive to another, you will
have to split it into two incidents.

Writing to CD

Having marked one or more incidents, and selected at least one, writing to CD is started by pressing the
ZERO key (for firmware revisions prior to VDM001G4, use the Incident menu to start writing to CD).

Note that you can only write incidents to a blank CD. If you need to erase a CD-RW, enter “

Incident

Options” in the “User Menu” select the “Erase CD” option and press YES. It is not possible to erase
a CD-R.

When important incidents have been written to a CD, always check that the CD plays back correctly, either
by playing it on the VDM or on a PC (see below).
