Using ICMP Echo
ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol ) echo lets you ping
devices using their IP address. ICMP echo can only be used if the
access point has determined the IP address of the end device or
another access point. If the access point is acting as an ARP server,
it will determine the IP addresses of the end devices that are
attached to it and allow you to use ICMP echo on the wireless
network. The access point always knows the IP address of all
access points in the spanning tree.
