Answering system
Problem Cause & solution
The unit does not record new
messages.
L
The answering system is turned off. Turn it on (page
49).
L The recording time is set to “Greeting Only”.
Select “1 Minute” or “3 Minutes” (page 53).

If you subscribe to the voice mail service,
messages are recorded by your service
provider/telephone company not your telephone.
Change the unit’s “Number of Rings” setting so
that the unit’s answering system can answer the
call before the voice mail service or consult your
service provider/telephone company (page 53).
The other party complains that they
cannot leave a message.

The recording time is set to “Greeting Only”.
Select “1 Minute” or “3 Minutes” (page 53).
I cannot operate the answering
system with the handset.

The base unit or another handset is being used.
Wait for the other user to finish.
