Impeller replacement

This table shows the criteria for replacing the impeller:

When to replace

Vane edges

When you see cracks, pitting, or corrosion damage

Wear ring surfaces

When the clearance to the casing wear ring has
increased by 50% over the values in the Minimum
running clearances table

Gaskets, O-rings, and seats replacement

WARNING:
Avoid death or serious injury. Leaking fluid can cause fire and/or burns. Replace any damaged or worn
gaskets/o-rings.

• Replace all gaskets and O-rings at each overhaul and disassembly.

• Inspect the seats. They must be smooth and free of physical defects.

• Replace parts if the seats are defective.

Frame adapter

• Check the frame adapter (108) for cracks or excessive corrosion damage. Replace if any

of these conditions exist.

• Make sure that the gasket surface is clean.

Silicon carbide bearings, bearing cartridge

Inspect the bearings (849) for cracks, chips, or excessive wear. Replace the cartridge if any of
these conditions exist.

Containment shell

• Make sure that the wall thickness of the containment shell (750) is a minimum of 0.039 in.

(0.991 mm).

• Make sure that the containment shell is free from pitting or cracks.
