13.4 Error messages
If the machine encounters a problem, an error dialog will appear and display one of the following error mes-
sages. Take corrective actions by referring to the table below.
If a communication error persists, please contact your service representative.
Message Cause Remedy
[Off-Hook]
[Off-Hook. Please check.] The machine has been left off-
hook after a manual transmis-
sion. Put the machine back on-hook.
[Memory Full (FAX)]
[Insufficient memory. Check sta-
tus.] The memory is full. If a fax is being sent, send the
scanned document pages. Oth-
erwise, send the fax manually.
If a fax is being received, print
the received documents saved
in the memory.
[Fax TX Failed]
[Fax TX failed due to error at dial-
ing.
Redials after predetermined
time.]
An error occurred while a fax
(G3) is being sent. This error is automatically
cleared.
[Fax RX Failed]
[Unsuccessful job completion
due to receiving error. Check his-
tory.] An error occurred while a fax
(G3) is being received. This error is automatically
cleared.
[Polling RX Error]
[Multi destinations are not al-
lowed.] Multiple destinations were
specified for polling reception. Multiple destinations cannot be
specified for polling reception.
Try performing the operation
again with only one destination
specified.
[PC-Fax TX Error]
[Error occurred while receiving
PC-Fax TX data.] An error occurred while receiv-
ing PC-FAX TX data. This error is automatically
cleared.
[PC-FAX Restricted]
[PC-Fax is restricted.] A PC-FAX transmission is pro-
hibited on this machine. Enable the PC-FAX transmis-
sion function. For details, refer
to the [User's Guide Administra-
tor Operations].
[I-Fax TX Failed]
[Error while sending. I-FAX TX
failed.] An error occurred while an
Internet Fax is being sent. This error is automatically
cleared.
[I-Fax RX Failed]
[Unsuccessful job completion
due to error at I-FAX RX. Check
the history.] An error occurred while an
Internet Fax is being received. This error is automatically
cleared.
[E-mail forwarding failed]
[E-mail forwarding failed because
an error occurred during the
session.]
An error occurred when for-
warding by E-mail. This error is automatically
cleared.
[Fax Memory Low]
[Verify Fax job.] The memory is coming to an in-
sufficient state. Print out the documents saved
in the memory, or delete them.
[Job Registration Limit Over]
[Registered jobs reached limit.
Wait for job registration to com-
plete.]
The number of requested jobs
exceeds the number of registra-
ble jobs. Wait until the jobs complete or
delete the current job.
[Fax RX Job Max Over]
[Print Fax RX or Cancel] The number of received fax
transmission jobs exceeds the
number of registrable jobs. Print out the received fax trans-
mission jobs, or delete them.
